Further to the Friday, October 21, 2016 DDoS, it becomes urgent to address the "ICANN BUG" (i.e. the DNS “Being Unicamerally Governed”). At a meeting today, the XLIBRE OpenStand Global Community has, therefore, decided to review its plans to implement two additional experimental responses regarding the market’s concerns.

1. The FL class will be initially threefold: its root will operate in three classes, supported by three root zone server galaxies.

This way, a DDoS attack should be multiplied by three to have the same impact. The use of a default class in resolvers will mean that in case of DNS Class overload, users will only have to change their default resolution Class.

A DDDS capability scheme will then be included for further testing in the fringe to fringe “catebox” specifications.

2. We understand that the SAS (semantic addressing system association) will include the results of this experimentation in their own Unitag support.

We plan to organize an IANA.NZ international DNS barcamp/meetup in Montpellier (France). It will be open to representatives from other OpenStand Global Communities (OSGCs).

Regards,

JFC Morfin
Interim Chair, the XLIBRE OpenStand Global Community
